New web for a new reel

We are super pumped to present our newest demo reel and we have taken our familiar star-gazing branded website, gave it some new life and new tech. We choose to stick with our favorite content management system, WordPress, developed a theme using HTML5 boilerplate, and added some fancy JQuery animation effects. We’re happy to report that you will be able to view the animations on smartphones and tablets. Most people are used to Flash for carrying out the cool movements on websites, but unfortunately it’s a cumbersome technology and not viewable on all devices.

Orionvega recently reworked a motion graphics and animation web video for a local Pittsburgh up and coming video content provider. BizVids creates compelling and enagaging video content for its clients to share on YouTube, Facebook, Twitter, and other popular social networks. What makes this service such an exciting proposition for businesses and agencies is that clients are able to provide consistent and exciting video content for their supporters while enhancing search engine optimization campaigns.

Internship Opening

Eligibility

A Video Production Internship is available for undergraduate students seeking internship through an accredited college or university. The following basic requirements must be met for eligibility:

Undergraduate students must have completed their junior year in a film, mass media or electronic media degree program
Undergraduate student must have an online demo reel of film, video, or animation projects.
Undergraduate student must have experience, either through or outside of the university/college curriculum, as a part of a video production crew.

Special attention will be given to those students with project experience outside of the college curriculum.

Application

Your application must include the following, which you may attach when applying:

A demonstration reel of work you have developed. (Must be viewable online, do not send actual demo files via email. Do not send DVDs through the mail. A link to a website or third-party video hosting account such as Vimeo or YouTube is acceptable.)
A one-page personal statement describing your career objectives and listing any experiences you have had which you feel would be helpful in considering your application.
Transcripts (a photocopy or scan is acceptable) from all colleges attended.
Projected timeframe of internship for college credit.

Overview

A Video Production internship with Orionvega is a fast paced and involved learning experience. You will be focused on the entire video production process. Out in the field or in the studio, you will be assisting the director, director of photography, and lighting director; therefore you must have some on-set production experience and know production terminology.

In the editing suite, you will be learning the post-production process. Adobe Production Premium Suite knowledge required for PC and Mac platforms.

This internship is non-paid and for college credit only. Internship location is in Pittsburgh, PA.

Additional Skills: Motion graphics, web design, graphic design, and web development knowledge a plus.

Sports Illustrated sent Orionvega to Hopewell High to film running back, Rushel Shell. He became the all-time WPIAL rushing leader in September so they needed some of his moves in action for SI.com’s High School Player of the Week web video. Check it out here.
